Face Masks Are Required in Our Common Hallways

As we all know, COVID-19 is a contagious disease that spreads rapidly from person to person. People infected are capable of exposing others to the virus even if their symptoms are mild, such as a cough, or even if they are asymptomatic. We also know that one of the few effective ways to reduce the risk of spreading the virus is by wearing a face covering, especially when you are in an indoor location where you are likely to come upon other persons who are not members of your household and from whom you cannot consistently maintain a distance of six feet. That is why both the Centers for Disease Control and the PA Department of Health have strongly urged everyone to wear a face covering under such circumstances.

Plymouth Park Apartments strongly endorses all of the recommendations and orders of both the state and federal public health authorities which are designed to reduce the spread of the virus and help protect our residents and employees. That is why we require that all persons-residents, visitors, employees, and contractors-must wear a face covering at all times when in the interior common areas of our buildings. This applies whether you are just walking in the hallway, going up or down the stairs between the building entrance and your apartment, or you are going to, from or are in the laundry room. Face coverings must be worn whenever you enter the building until you are inside your apartment, and whenever you leave your apartment until you are outside the building.

We have observed that a number of our residents have not been wearing face coverings when in their building common hallways. We have also been advised that some contractors’ employees have not been wearing masks when working in interior common areas; we have taken steps to remedy that. At a time when there has been a significant spike in the number of new COVID-19 cases in PA, it becomes that much more important that everyone wear face coverings, not just for your own well-being, but for the health and safety of all your neighbors in the building. We are all in this together. Please do your part.

Thank you for your anticipated cooperation.
